Anhedral Water Culture Unit - Cloning

AWC - CLONING

In the Andedral Water Culture unit, it's possible to clone plants. Tomato plants and many other Plants can be cloned! Using tomato plants as an example…

Addressing the tomato vine, we can identify the main stem, you’ll find a leaf stem at 90 degrees which collects sunlight and the sucker at 45 degrees which is what we want. .

This is a cloning plug…

Simply place the sucker, cut end first, into the cloning plug leaving about 3 cm protruding from the base of the cloning plug.

Next, go to the Anhedral Water Culture unit and turn off the sprinkler nozzle air feed, to stop water spraying. There’s no need to turn off the water feed however. As water flows out of the sprinkler head harmlessly, while you remain dry.

Next step: move around the Anhedral Water Culture unit and find an available hole on a growboard…

Insert the CloningPlug into the grow board.

Close the cover to protect your clones and the other crops in there…

Oh! And Don’t forget to turn the air back on.

Tomato vines have very fine hair on the stems and most importantly the sucker… When exposed to Aquaponics nutrient solution, these fine hairs turn into roots.

Returning to the Anhedral Water Culture unit 3 weeks later...

This happens… Roots have grown

Always bear in mind, Different Times of year and Different seasons will produce varying rates of growth.
