Being a closed loop biological system, threshold conditions must be met for the ecology to exist. One of these conditions is Fish Tank size being a minimum of 1000litres/200galons. Fish fail to withstand suden and or constantly changes in temperature and pH levels. To stabilise both conditions, HC-Mk1s hold unusually high volumes of water; because large volumes of water are slow to increase or decrease both temperature and pH.

Baseline systems will keep fish alive and grow plants; there is a balance of how much plant ratio to fish will serve both parties. Baseline systems are excellent teaching tools for schools or the interested future farmer... Baseline systems can be expanded out from 8 square meters of growing area to 52 square meters of growing area by adding more Units.
